Debra J. Johnston, RD, is founder and owner of Pathways to Nutrition, a nutrition counseling service located in the offices of Desert Oasis Therapeutic Massage. With more than 15 years of experience working in Long Term Care and with Eating Disorder Treatment, Debra has a wealth of expertise in promoting nutritional health throughout the lifecycle. She has a degree in Clinical Nutrition and a Certificate of Gerontology from Arizona State University and completed a Comprehensive Dietetic Internship through Phoenix based Focus on Nutrition. 

Debra has been registered through the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association since 1998.  Her expertise in nutrition is instrumental to providing nutrition counseling services for a number of health problems including Diabetes, Heart Disease, Food Allergies, Gastrointestinal Complaints, Bariatric Surgery and Weight Management.  She also enjoys working with children and families to develop sound and healthy food and eating habits. 

Debra’s personal Nutrition Philosophy is that by following guidelines that include variety and moderation all foods can be part of a healthy meal plan.  With her experience in food service to guide her, Debra is skilled in menu and recipe development.  She can assist with creating healthful and delicious menus that are also quick and simple to prepare.
