Debra J. Johnston, R.D. graduated with honors from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Clinical Nutrition and did her graduate work in Gerontology.  Following a year-long Internship with Focus on Nutrition in Phoenix, she became a Registered Dietitian through the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association.  For several years Debra worked in long term care as a Dietitian and Nutrition Services Director.  In 1998 Debra moved to Wickenburg where she is the Director of Nutrition Services at Remuda Ranch. 

With a strong background in Clinical Nutrition, Debra provides nutrition counseling services for a number of health problems; Diabetes, Heart Disease, Food Allergies, Gastrointestinal Complaints, Bariatric Surgery and Weight Management.  She also enjoys working with children and families to develop sound and healthy food and eating habits.  Debra’s personal Nutrition Philosophy is that everything can fit in a healthy meal plan by following guidelines that include variety and moderation.  With her food service experience to guide her, Debra is skilled in menu and recipe development.  She can assist with creating healthful and delicious menus that are also quick and simple to prepare.
